After nearly losing her to his father's evil plans, Prince Taran knows one thing for certain: he's never letting go of his clever little thief again. Even if that means trapping her into a fake engagement to keep her safe.
Alora can fight their "betrothal" all she wants; she won't be able to fight this fated pull between them-at least, he hopes she won't.
Because every moment he doesn't claim her, Taran's inner beast roars louder, until he's terrified it will burst out of his skin and hurt the exact person he'd do almost anything to protect.
But convincing Alora to abandon her best friend to an underwater prison in favor of her own safety is going to be well nigh impossible.
And she's definitely not accepting a fated bond from the same goddess that forced a new, unwelcome power on her-the one that almost tears her mind apart every time she attempts to wield it.
Pirates, prison heists, and murderous coups: there's no end to the threats in this island court that was meant to be their refuge.
But what is the beast prince meant to do when the danger she most needs protecting from might just be him?
An Ear For Secrets is Book 2 in the dual-pov romantasy trilogy, The Apex Kingdom, featuring a possessive cinnamon roll beast prince and his swaggering, odds-defying thief. To find out why readers are comparing this series to Throne of Glass and Onyx Storm, start with Book 1 A Taste For Lies.
