A concise textbook of orthopaedics that uses real life situations and clinical presentations to teach analytical skills in the diagnosis and management of common orthopaedic conditions, contextualised for an Asian practice. The book covers commonly encountered conditions and teaches the skills to reach a reasoned differential diagnosis and craft an appropriate management plan. It also discusses consistent physical examination skills including with video demonstrations by eminent faculty.
As in the book description above, contributors are from across Singapore. The book deals with commonly encountered clinical orthopaedic situations and diagnoses rather than esoteric and rare conditions. It is therefore a valuable resource for junior doctors and family practitioners as well.
Assoc. Professor Joseph Thambiah is a Senior Consultant with the National University Spine Institute at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, National University Hospital as well as an Assoc. Professor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He was, for 10 years, the pioneer Director of Orthopaedic Residency Training (ACGME-) at the National University Health System as well as the Directors of Undergraduate Teaching in Orthopaedics in NUH. He is also a Past President of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association and the Donal Gunn Lecturer in Orthopaedics in 2020. Dedicated to education, Assoc. Prof Thambiah teaches and mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students throughout the nation. The idea of a contextualized and relevant textbook of orthopaedics for medical undergraduates has been on his mind for many years and the COVID19 years allowed this dream to come to fruition.
Dr LEE Eng Hin is Emeritus Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the National University of Singapore and Emeritus Consultant at the National University Hospital. He received his undergraduate and postgraduate medical training in Canada and specializes in Paediatric Orthopaedics. He was a former Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, a former Dean of the NUS Medical School and a former Director of the Division of Graduate Medical Studies at NUS. He is a passionate teacher, having taught medical students and residents at NUS since 1983. Over the years he has also taught numerous clinical fellows from the Asia Pacific region many of whom are heads of departments in their own countries. He plays an important role in postgraduate orthopaedic education in the region as Chair of the Education Committee of the ASEAN Orthopaedic Association and a member of the Education Committee of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association.
Professor James Hui Hoi Po is a distinguished leader in orthopaedic surgery, holding the prestigious Ling Chaw Ming Professorship at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also Head and Senior Consultant at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, National University Hospital. Prof Hui received his undergraduate medical degree from NUS, followed by comprehensive surgical and orthopaedic training across all major hospitals in Singapore under the National Training Programme. His expertise was further honed during a paediatric orthopaedic fellowship in Australia. He also obtained his Doctor of Medicine in Orthopaedics by research. Consequences of the revocation
If you revoke this contract, we shall repay all the payments, which we received from you, including the delivery costs (with the exception of additional costs, which arise from that fact that you selected a form of delivery other than the most reasonable standard delivery offered by us), immediately and at the latest within 14 days from the day on which we received the notification about the revocation of this contract from you. for delivery of products if they have been mixed inseparably with other goods after the delivery, owing to their condition;
for delivery of sound or video recording or computer software in a sealed package if the seal has been removed after the delivery.
