In 4° (20,5x16,2 cm); 28 pp. Brossura coeva in cartoncino molle azzurro, qualche angolo piegato alle prime pagine ma per il resto in buone condizioni di conservazione. Prima rarissima edizione di questo scritto dedicato all'"Irritabilità di Haller" del noto medico e fisico tedesco Ernst Gottfried Baldinger (13 Maggio 1738 - 21 gennaio 1804), nato nei pressi di Erfurt. L'autore studiò medicina a Erfurt, Halle e Jena, conseguendo il MD nel 1760 sotto la guida di Christoph Mangold e nel 1761 ottenne la sovrintendenza degli ospedali militari connessi con l'accampamento nei pressi di Torgau prussiano. Baldinger pubblicò un trattato nel 1765, De morbis Militum, che incontrà un'accoglienza estremamente favorevole. Nel 1768 divenne professore di medicina a Jena, che lasciò nel 1773 per Göttingen, e nel 1785 si trasferì infine a Marburgo, dove morì di apoplessia il 21 gennaio 1804. Tra i suoi allievi si contano Sommerring Samuel Thomas, Johann Friedrich Blumenbach, e Johann Christian Wiegleb. Ha scritto circa più di ottanta trattati separati, oltre a numerosi articoli sparsi in varie collezioni e riviste. L'autore in questo scritto entra con forza nel dibattito dell'epoca legato alle nuove scoperte ed esperienze di Albrecht Von Haller. "Nel 1753 comparve negli atti dell'Accademia di Gottinga una memoria di Albrecht von Haller. Sulla scorta di una lunga serie di esperimenti, egli individuava nell'animale due proprietà tra loro distinte: l'irritabilità, ovvero la proprietà delle fibre muscolari di contrarsi in presenza di uno stimolo esterno, e la sensibilità, che invece dipendeva dai nervi e che consisteva nella sensazione dolorosa prodotta da uno stimolo in alcune parti del corpo59. Distinguendo l'irritabilità, cioè la contrattilità, dalla sensibilità e ascrivendo la prima unicamente ai muscoli, Haller negava, tra l'altro, il ruolo fondamentale che la fisiologia aveva da sempre assegnato ai nervi nel moto muscolare.". Pur riconoscendo lo stimolo elettrico come in grado di favorire la contrazione dei muscoli, Haller rifiutava che la vera causa del movimento dei corpi fosse attribuibile ad esso. La memoria di Haller generò in tutto il mondo scientifico europeo un enorme dibattito, in particolare a Bologna dove sulla scorta di Haller, Caldani e Fontana, Galvani iniziò e approfondì i suoi esperimenti. Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
