H. Bailey & Co. Notaries Public and Custom House Brokers, Philadelphia, engraved billhead dated March 27, 1890 for tonnage tax, fees, etc., together with (and glued to) four Customs House receipts. These papers appear to be from the estate of the captain W. E. Colcord of Stockton Springs Maine, who was the sometimes captain and part owner of the bark "Carrie Heckle," and seem to cover two or three shipments. Of particular interest is that the ship "Carrie Heckle," captained by the Capt. Freeman mentioned in the April 14 1890 letter above, was lost at sea in October or November 1894 (along with the entire crew and the captain's wife who had joined him for the trip), presumably in a hurricane. No remains were ever located. A unique and noteworthy collection. Please review the various scans. Items range from very good to fine condition. Seller Inventory # 018927
