Publisher's original box with top half's pictorial panel soiled and rubbed with scuffing and tears at seams; bottom half rubbed with one worn corner. 1-228, i-xii pages. Handsome dark brown flexible leather covers (described on box as "Limp Mission lamb"): H 24.1cm x L 17.1cm. A few scattered foxing spots to interior pages which otherwise remain clean. Binding is firm. A near fine copy in a good+ box. Laid-in between pages 122-123 is a Wm. H. Wise & Co. promotional sheet/order form for their "The Illustrated World History" which, per OCLC, they did not publish until the 1934 so this Roycroft volume could possibly be more than a few years later than the 1923 date specified upon its copyright page.
