Grey cloth with black lettering and skeleton vignette to front board. Soil mark to lower front edge of boards. Previous owner signature and mailing label to front endpaper. Text is clean and bright, no marks, evenly tanned. DJ is battered, missing a large piece at both head and heel of spine, rubbing, tears and chips to all edges. "Abby Doorn, the richest and most famous woman in America, was about to undergo a delicate operation. The operation was to be performed at the hospital founded through her charitable bequests by the brilliant surgeon who was both her friend and her protege.
