Addiction recovery is about more than willpower.
It requires transformation.
Many people struggling with addiction know the cycle all too well—promising change, trying harder, and still feeling trapped. The problem is not simply behavior. Addiction often grows from deeper wounds, false identities, and patterns that cannot be broken by self-effort alone.
The Dunamis Effect offers a powerful Christian addiction recovery approach that brings together the wisdom of the 12-step recovery journey with the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Written from the perspective of both medical insight and lived experience, this book explores how addiction affects the mind, the heart, and the spirit—and why true healing requires more than discipline or determination.
At the center of recovery is a life-changing question:
What happens when your Higher Power is not an idea… but Jesus?
Through a compelling blend of neuroscience, biblical insight, and recovery principles, The Dunamis Effect helps readers understand how faith can break destructive patterns and lead to lasting freedom.
Inside you’ll discover:
• How the 12 steps of addiction recovery can be understood through a Christian lens
• Why addiction often grows from deeper emotional and spiritual wounds
• How the gospel speaks directly to those seeking faith-based recovery
• Practical insights to help begin a Christian recovery journey grounded in truth
Looking for a more hands-on approach to recovery?
The Dunamis Effect Workbook is a companion guide designed to help readers actively apply the principles in this book through reflection questions, exercises, and step-by-step tools for working the recovery journey.
While The Dunamis Effect is rooted in the 12 steps of addiction recovery, its principles apply to many forms of struggle and brokenness. Addiction often takes different shapes—substance abuse, gambling, compulsive behaviors, codependency, self-harm, and other destructive patterns—but the deeper spiritual and emotional roots are often similar. This book offers a faith-based recovery framework that helps readers understand those roots and begin the journey toward lasting freedom in Christ.
Whether you are personally battling addiction, walking alongside a loved one, or searching for a trusted Christian addiction recovery resource, this book offers clarity, hope, and a path forward.
Freedom is possible.
Transformation is possible.
And through Christ, recovery can become more than survival—it can become new life.
