Item description from seller

[Scottish Poetry] BIRTHDAY EDITION, the FOURTH EDITION overall. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.viii; 116. With a black and white photographic frontispiece of the author. Publisher's light blue cloth with navy titles to spine and upper. With the light blue typographic dust-jacket, not priced. Internally crisp and clean, with some light wear and toning to jacket. Near fine. First published in 1926, this is probably MacDiarmid's best known collection, and one the most significant modernist poems of the early twentieth century, sitting comfortably alongside Eliot's 'The Waste Land' (1922). This fourth edition was published to celebrate the poet's 70th birthday.
