With a streamlined format, updated information, and an affordable price, this revised version of A New Direction is sure to make a positive impact in your residential substance abuse treatment program or with any of your law-involved clients.
A New Direction is a comprehensive cognitive-behavioural therapy treatment program that trains chemically dependent offenders to challenge their thinking in order to change their criminal and addictive behaviour patterns.
- real inmates tell the real story about recovering from a life of addiction and crime
- cognitive-behavioural approach helps inmates see how their attitudes and assumptions fuel destructive behaviours
- modular structure allows for easy customisation to meet individual, facility, and budget needs
- can be wholly implemented as a new program or implemented in part to enhance your existing program
- features built-in tools for measuring outcomes
- provides framework for standardised treatment from facility to facility
A New Direction consists of six core modules: Intake & Orientation, Criminal & Addictive Thinking, Drug & Alcohol Education, Socialisation, Relapse Prevention, and Release & Reintegration Preparation. Each module features videos, client workbooks, and facilitator's guides.
Expanded Release and Reintegration Preparation Module
Now included in the Release and Reintegration Preparation module is Hazelden's groundbreaking video The Turning Point: Breaking the Cycle of Addiction and Incarceration. The addition of this poignant video brings new depth to this important module.
About the New Streamlined Format
You no longer need to decide between the ""long term"" version versus the ""short term"" version of this popular program. The new streamlined version makes implementation easier than ever. CD-ROM of additional and reproducible material
The full program includes a CD-ROM containing all program information, worksheets, and supplemental information that was previously part of the Long Term Program but not part of the Short Term Program. Also included on the CD-ROM is the Outcome Study Guidebook, Staff Guidebook, and Administrator's Guidebook.
