About this Item
Octavo. Limited to only 250 copies. The author's first book. The present copy has a manuscript note to Edwin B. Hill on the front free endpaper signed by the author. There is an envelope laid in at rear with a two-page manuscript letter to Edwin B. Hill from the author. Hill had become known as a pioneer printer in Arizona. In 1882, as a child he traded another boy for a tiny hand-inking Daisy. Over time he had worked for a Newspaper which helped him learn all about printing. By the end of his lifetime, he came to be recognized as the proprietor of the longest continuously operated private press in the United States. He died in 1949. A lovely copy bound in 1/4 green cloth over green paper covered boards lettered in black, spine plain. A fine, clean fresh copy. Seller Inventory # 022977
