1825 hardcover, quarter-bound in olive cloth, with very aged red boards, is in Fair condition, having much rubbing and scuffing to cover boards, cloth, and spine; there appears to be something written faintly in white chalk on front cover (can't make it out); original paper paste-on on spine is very worn, with part of lower left pulled off, and creases; very old sticker on first fixed endpaper has the number 85 written in ink on it; signature of former owner written in brown fountain-pen ink on half-title page; slight foxing; book originally published with uncut deckled pages (and some pages still uncut); stain on one of the engravings (on the plate for "Twelfth-Night," on left side of image). There is a possibility that the book has been re-bound more than a century ago. Book has four engravings, drawn by Thurston, and engraved by Rhodes. The plays in this volume: "A Midsummer-Night's Dream", "The Merry Wives of Windsor", "Twelfth Night", and "Much Ado About Nothing." These are all from the Isaac Reed edition. In the last part of the book there is a section of annotations for the plays. Literature. Drama. Plays. Shakespeare. DB.…
