Print on Demand. This book, detailing a months-long endeavor, tells the story of an unforgettable journey taken by the author in the early 1900s to Yellowstone National Park, a place of immense natural beauty. Travelling through the Park at a time of year when few ventured there, the author aimed to study game preservation. Equipped with little more than his writing supplies, ski, and a strong sense of adventure, the author's account of the wildlife he encountered, reveals his encounters with everything from elk and bison to bears and mountain sheep. Despite the wild splendour of his surroundings, the author's journey also captures the immense solitude and at times dangerous conditions he faced in a wintery wilderness. The author's experiences provide unique insights into the fragility of nature and the importance of conservation, making this a compelling read for those interested in natural history, conservation, and adventure. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

From Butte to the Yellowstone was only a step. That it was still winter at those altitudes, and that the Park, under from ten to forty feet of snow, would not be opened to tourists for another two months.
