Item description from seller

A scarce set of genealogy books by Thomas C. Banks. First editions. With Lord Gwydyr's armorial nameplate on the front pastedowns. Thomas Christopher Banks (1765–1854) was a genealogist. The Manual of the Nobility, his first publication, appeared in 1807. The same year he brought out the first volume of the Dormant and Extinct Baronage of England; a second volume followed in 1808, and a third in 1809. In a half calf binding with gilt detail. Externally generally smart with some bumping and rubbing to the extremities, and joints. Rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Hinges starting and may possibly detach with further handling. Bookplate to the front pastedowns. Internally pages are bright and clean with just the odd spot. Small ink inscriptions on the front pastedowns. Front free endpaper to volume one is loosening. Good.…
