Item description from seller

Direct from Michael Gilbert's private library in Kent comes this scarce first edition of The Doors Open. The author's personal in which he has written "copy amended for misprints", it bears his distinctive green & white library label adhered to the front pastedown. There are several pages which contain Michael Gilbert's corrections in blue ink.For example, page 10, line 2 contains "Incorporated Accountants" which the author has corrected as "Chartered Accountants". Top edges rather dusty, fore edges and several pages of text spotted. Blue cloth marked in several places. The startling Bip Pares dustwrapper is chipped at the foot of the spine and 1" loss at the head, taking "THE" and the second "O" from the title. It's a valuable and a unique rarity and certain to be of interest to Michael Gilbert collectors.…
