nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - In recent years, Blessed Columba Marmion's writings and teaching have become increasingly available to the faithful throughout the world. The depth of his spiritual knowledge and the beauty and simplicity of his teaching have not been lost to us. Yet what still remains is a portrait of this great saint. The present biography fills in this gap. Compiled of essentially two parts, Dom Raymond Thibault first traces the historical details of Blessed Marmion's life to reveal a man tried by suffering, joyful in the Lord, and truly heroic in the way that he shepherded his flock. From his humble and difficult beginnings in Ireland to the height of his reputation as a spiritual master all the way to the trials of his abbacy, you will discover the story of a simple and saintly man close to the heart of his Lord.In the second portion of Thibault's biography, the portrait turns to the spiritual life and import of Blessed Marmion and is itself a spiritual masterpiece. The spiritual narrative of Marmion's life gives the impression that you are following Marmion himself as a spiritual director and leader on the path to union with God. Filled with quotations from his letters, conferences, personal conversations, and more, you will find yourself coming away from a veritable feast that will keep you going, and to which you can return, for the rest of your life. Rarely will you find a biography so edifying. So now, tolle et lege, take and read.…
