Hardcover. This breezy, charmingly illustrated gift book celebrates 30 women from all walks of life, including artists, scientists, and humanitarians, who have one thing in common-their unique bond with their dogs. This charmingly illustrated book celebrates the unique bond between fascinating women in history and their loyal best friends. You'll visit inventor and actor Hedy Lamarr and her Great Dane, Donner, in their home in the Hollywood Hills; walk alongside the sea with poet Emily Dickinson and her Newfoundland, Carlo; and cheer on tennis great Serena Williams with her Yorkie, Chip. You'll also learn important life lessons from a dog's perspective, discover who's in the canine hall of fame, understand how to speak dog, and more. You can even take a quiz to find your paw-fect pooch match--are you a unique dachshund or an outdoorsy Labrador? Or maybe you're a sweet-natured Cavalier King Charles spaniel, or perhaps a passionate border collie. There's so much to dig into among the pages of this book, and every dog lover will learn something new.
