Print on Demand. This book is a biography of 17th-century English lawyer, pamphleteer, and politician William Prynne. The author explores Prynne's life in the context of the dramatic political and religious transformations of his time. Prynne's opposition to the policies of King Charles I and Archbishop Laud led to a career marked by controversy, fierce attacks on the theater, and multiple imprisonments. The author provides a detailed overview of Prynne's writings, in which he advocated for a strict Puritanism that rejected the ceremonial practices of Laud and his followers. This book sheds light on the religious and political tensions of the period and the role of individuals in shaping the course of history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.

The home of William Prynne was one well suited for the nourish ment of an earnest, serious spirit. That his father was a religious man is unquestionable. It is equally certain, from the explicit avowal of his theological opinions contained in the preface to his will, that, in the disputes of those days, he took the Puritan, or, as some people term it, the Calvinistic side. Such a man would be careful to teach his children and household to worship God in the way which he deemed right.
