The Services Selection Board (SSB) is a five-day personality assessment procedure conducted for officer-level selection for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Coast Guard.

It is a two-stage selection system with stage-1 held on the day of arrival and stage-2 on the remaining four days. Stage-2 consists of three categories of tests, namely, GTO tasks, psychology tests, and personal interview. About the Author

Col (Dr) Mohinder Pal Singh is an Infantry officer. He has been a GTO with 19 SSB and Senior GTO 14 SSB. He has had over six years of experience as an assessor in SSBs. He is a graduate from St Xaviers College Mumbai, post graduate and doctorate from Allahabad University. Presently he is mentoring defence services aspirants as Founder and Director of AMAS Training, Greater Noida.
