This collection of commentaries is a critique of America's conservatives during Donald Trump's decade (2015-25) of political influence. Each piece looks at what conservative leaders and voters have been doing and saying over the past ten years relative to the Republican Party's fundamental principles and historic foundations. Their words and actions are viewed through the lenses of four key pillars of the party ... constitutionalism, conservatism, Christianity, and patriotism. If after reading the book you find yourself wanting to reread Sinclair Lewis's 1935 book, "It Can't Happen Here," a prophetic story about insidious forces methodically dismantling a democracy, you are not alone. If you haven't read Lewis's book, now will be timely.
