About the Author
As Senior Lecturer in the school of Construction Economics and Management at South Bank University, Dr Shamil Naoum is well-placed to write a book on the ins and outs of dissertation research and writing for construction students. Dr Naoum's own student days began in Baghdad, Iraq where he acquired a BSc in Building and Construction Engineering, before moving to England where he studied at Aston and Brunel University. Dr Naoum was awarded a PhD in Construction Management just before starting his current post. Dr Naoum has also worked extensively within the construction industry as a Resident Engineer, Project Manager, Planning Consultant and Project Management Consultant, so possesses a unique familiarity with both academic and professional processes in construction. He has published many articles and has presented numerous conference papers, but Dissertation Research and Writing for Construction Students is his only book - to date.
