8vo., 607 pgs. with numerous illus., mostly black and white. An early specialist study of the health and illnesses of horses. This is an extremely thorough study of the animal, which is filled with practical types of treatment which would have enabled owners to care for their animals, and cure minor problems without veterinary care. The few colored plates which are contained in the book are very nicely drawn and printed. While medicinal treatments have vastly improved, the observations and suggestions here seem practical and beneficial to animal care. Slight edge-wear to book, no writing insid, brown cloth binding has typical abrasive wear from uise, but the book block is tight and firmly attached. Very good condition (no dust jacket).
