"This 7.25 x 10.75 inch, 81 page hardcover book is the 1968 fine press printing by Lewis Osborne. This copy is in near fine condition with three modest smudges on the back panel of the cover as really the only condition issues to bring this copy down from fine. One of the smudges is a smallish brown color, the other two are hand smudges. Beyond the smudges the book is in fine condition but lacks the plain paper cover as issued. The gilt figure of a miner and lettering on the spine are bright and clean and the interior text is in fine condition. This title reprints three articles from the Century Magazine in 1891 giving accounts of the gold discovery in California. This copy has the folded reprinting of the newspaper "Californian" March 15, 1848 giving the first publication, "Gold Mine Found." This is laid into the book. 81 pages.". Seller Inventory # 1505-687
