Quarto, [iv], 330 pages with several tables, 128 full-page diagrams, and numerous other illustrations and figures plus a frontispiece portrait of the author and 8 pages of plates. Half contrasting cloth lettered in gilt on the spine; sides unevenly sunned and a little rubbed; two small areas along the leading edges of the boards, and a small section of the leading edge of the last two leaves (both blank), slightly abraded; a very good copy (internally excellent). Loosely inserted are two related pieces of ephemera.
