Hamilton assembled this collection during a 30 years period like British envoy at Naples court. He and Hancarville drew and catalogued the collection intended for publication in 4 volumes.This work influenced the neo classical taste throughout Europe in architecture,painting ,decoration etc. The engravings are a masterpiece of graphic art and very rare for collecting.
