There are two main groups that fall into the category of ‘digital natives’: Those known as millennials and their younger counterparts, centennials.
Although there are many other names and distinguishing titles that society has given them such as Gen Y, Gen Me, Gen Z, and iGen, for the purpose of this work, we will consider both to fall under the umbrella of an entirely new generation, that of ‘digital natives.’
Digital natives can be defined as those who grew up with all the benefits of technology. This may include early millennials who were around from the dawn of computers to the youngest centennials, witnessing the latest cutting-edge trends in technology. While each generation comes across as different, there are similarities that make them a force to be reckoned with, and these warrant close attention.
There are debates and deliberation as to how digital natives are changing the world and the correlation between the subject of ‘emotional intelligence.’ Though these subjects may appear to be totally unrelated, we’ll provide sufficient information that they are more closely associated than was originally thought. Changes in the fiber of digital natives, when compared with their earlier cohorts, raise the question as to whether these evolutionary changes are a result of the Digital Revolution.
Although the initial introduction to computers was slow in gaining traction and momentum, there can be no denying the fact that over the last few decades, additional technological challenges and advancements have made unprecedented strides across almost every sector and industry. Globally, these changes have taken place so rapidly and so drastically that it’s impossible to return to the world we once knew. In short, if we want to remain abreast of these changes, we need to be able to sprint to keep up, rather than walk.
Technology has altered the trajectory of history and has touched every aspect of our lives—whether personal, business, educational, or healthcare, and significant strides have been made in the way that we interact, communicate, and do business.
Individuals belonging to this period of history and the products of this revolution are currently labeled as ‘Digital Natives.’ This is a new generation that is defined by a completely different set of rules, characteristics, and behavioral traits that separate them from all other generations that have superseded them. They think and act completely differently from their predecessors.
It raises questions that ask if, because of their new way of thinking and acting, has their sphere of intelligence actually changed in line with the improvements made to technology? What type of future are we currently approaching that will be led by these Digital Natives? How can they be distinguished from those that have gone before? What impact does all of this have on the development of Emotional Intelligence necessary for survival?
Finally, we will discover that although these appear to be two very different research subjects, they are actually more closely related than they initially seem. They’re both intrinsic to each other, and they’re both products of the same ever-changing world.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to GreatBookPrices, Bensenville, Illinois, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
