About this Item
This 9.25 x 13.0, 116-page hardcover book is the 1967 printing by the Old West Publishing Company with a very nice introduction by George P. Hammond. This copy is in fine condition with the red cloth boards showing no signs of damage or wear. The pictorial imprint on the front cover is sharp and without fading. The book is now protected by an added clear plastic jacket. The interior shows a previous owner's bookplate attached to the front pastedown but beyond that there are no condition issues to mention for the text pages themselves. This is a very attractive book and was designed by Lawton and Alfred Kennedy in San Francisco in an edition of 1250 copies. The letters of Daniel Coit were extensive and contain considerable information of historic and personal interest about San Francisco, and California in general, during the gold rush era. 116 pages.
