Including 2,551 more entries than the previous, second edition. The third edition of this dictionary contains a total of 28,850 entries -- 13,889 in the German-English part, and 14,961 in English-German. This amounts to an increase of 2,551 entries over the second edition. The disproportionate increase of English terms reflects the fact, that new developments in librarianship have their origins in the Anglo-American area. All entries are followed by subject field classifications, which indicate the context of each term where doubt may arise. Further, individual terms are provided with additional explanatory notes, and definition sources denote standardized terminology used in cataloguing codes, e.g. the RAK or AACR2.
