2 vols, half titles, engraved frontispiece portrait vol. I, J. Heath sculpt., 1799. 4to. Titlepage vol. I creased & sl. dusted, sl. damp mark to lower corner of frontispiece. A nice clean copy. Contemp. full diced calf, raised bands, compartments ruled & dec. in gilt, black morocco labels; cup mark to front board vol. II, hinges neatly repaired, sl. rubbed. Armorial bookplate of Thomas Windus, Gothic Hall, on leading pastedowns. A nice copy in contemporary binding. Fleeman 55.4D/12; Alston V 191; ESTC T116650. The last eighteenth century quarto edition. The copy of Thomas Windus, a successful coach-builder and collector of antiquities which here housed in a purpose built wing of his home, Gothic Hall, in Hackney. Seller Inventory # 83976
