A man walks into an upmarket restaurant in the City. Within seconds, a senior banker lies dead. Shortly afterwards a senior Civil Servant is also shot. Someone is tidying up.
DICE picks up where The SLICE leaves off. In Europe and the USA, Sam Duncan squares up to a secret cabal motivated by greed and power. These players incite corruption, betrayal and murder. Eilidh suffers from PTSD and needs constant care.
Sam Duncan and the mysterious Tonka plunge into a lethal escalation of the battle against a monstrous global confederacy of business, criminals, bankers, officials and politicians want to stop him. Money talks as betrayal and murder stalk Sam and disrupt his investigation.
Sam, Tonka and a mysterious woman are both hunters and hunted. Their enemy, a deadly hydra-like network, attacks from all sides. Its lethal reach and power are as frightening as they are lethal.
Aggressive pursuit places the team in stark jeopardy and survival comes down to a matter of minutes. What price the power of love in the darkest of times?
Just what can you do to overcome an unprincipled foe? In a wild final confrontation, Sam is going to find out … win or lose, there’ll be a price to pay.
The excitement and action are cranked up another notch as Sam and his comrades get pulled even deeper into the widespread world of The Biz organization. With its arms reaching across Europe, Asia, and the United States, Sam must flee with his sister before they are destroyed on foreign soil. Some players they trusted are proven unworthy as the dark corruption bleeds into government agencies. Thrilling to the last page. A very satisfying read! V Gray, USA
Mac Logan keeps getting it better and better. This is the second book of the Angels' Share series and I'm even more hooked now ... Hanne Partonen, AUS
I found myself holding my breath too long and my e-reader too hard. There's also enough humor to wake your spouse with laughter at 02:20 in the morning. Just brilliant. S D Lewis, UK
I really enjoyed this second book in the Trilogy, it was as thrilling as the first, fast and furious pace with great characters and as the suspense and mysteries unfold keep you enthralled and in suspense until the very end. Please Mac get on with finishing the last part in this fantastic trilogy. I cant wait..... Diane Plummer UK
Eilidh ... is fleshed out more than ever and is becoming a brilliant character in her own right. She's well-devised and it was the correct choice to place a woman in amongst an otherwise testosterone-dominated group. She isn't a clichéd damsel in distress however, while she is known for needing saving she is a strong person and holds up her own against the male leads. The highlight for me was undoubtedly the halfway point of the book - a terrific set of scenes in Washington State where some of the lead characters (including Sam himself) are pursued by assassins working for BIZZ. It's well-written stuff that's vivid and entertaining and makes for very good reading indeed. Despite the oft humorous quips, however, this book is perhaps even darker than the original. As its title suggests, this is about the dark arts, very specific skills and ways of doing things that Sam and his friends learned in their many years as special forces. Sam is increasingly forced to utilise these skills, slowly driving him towards the darker side of the human psyche and back to a life he thought he'd left behind. Mac Logan once again pulls no punches here, making DarkArt a worthy sequel to The Angel's Share. Martijn van Waveren, Scotland, UK
I was eagerly awaiting this second book of the series. It hasn't disappointed me in any way. Equally as gripping (another early morning finish) I just couldn't put it down once I had started. The descriptions that Mac Logan puts down on the page are just breathtaking I felt myself involved and in some places almost listening in case there were people prowling around the edges of the room I was in. I just cannot recommend this writer highly enough to everyone. The book is fast paced and won't let you go until you have finished it. One of my top ten books this year. I really want a third in the series soon please. R Brown, UK
Its fiction but the scary thing is that it could be happening right now. DICE - a Dark Art is fast-paced, exciting and difficult to put down book. The story takes all kinds of twists and turns and you never know where it is leading, who was responsible, or how it would turn out until the end. I read it in one afternoon and evening because I could not put it down, a rare thing for me and a wonderful indulgence. It is not only a good tale but also suggests an interesting insight into the dark side of state institutions and their officers. C Gill, UK
