About this Item
A diary which covers the early part of this artists life. She was one of six children born into a Anglo-French family at the turn of the twentieth century, living outside Lyon, schooled in Eastbourne, with unlimited money for travel and artistic indulgences. Ivy studied art in Dresden, enjoyed music, and starts questioning life's conventions and her religion when writing this diary. With an 'introduction' by Sir Francis Meynell (typographer, publisher & poet), who has signed the book to 'Irene with gratitude Francis 8 November 1960' & the original owner has written in pencil 'Meynell' in brackets. /// This is a cloth bound 1st edition hardback, in good condition-the cloth of the spine & front board is faded.
