About this Item
In fair condition. Extremities moderately worn with scuffing along edges and flaking along cloth hinges. Endbands lightly crushed from shelf wear. Toned and lightly soiled boards. A few pencil doodles at top left corner of front board. Old hand ownership on front paste down and rear flyleaf in graphite. Title page sticking to gutter. Interior lightly toned with scattered foxing. Binding intact, albeit shaken. Please see photos. This pirated edition is the direct result of Marryat s attempt to protect his American copyright. The first English author to do so, Marryat copyrighted his work in the U.S. with the Philadelphia publication, but as a foreign author it had no effect. Seller Inventory # COLT1839ABEK
