A smart copy of this scarce scientific work on vapours from different parts of the world. Scarce work. With a frontispiece and many engravings. A detailed scientific work on the nature, properties, and dangers of dew and mist across the world, with chapters on the historical records of the process, the science of heat, inquiries into the phenomena, illustrations and explanations, further observations, hoar frost, hygrometry, mists and fogs, and more. Written by Charles Tomlinson, an English scientist who published papers on meteorology and the physical properties of liquids. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Further spotting and light age toning to the endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Very Good.
