Kelly L. Call teaches that liberty is not merely permission, autonomy, political identity, or the right to do what we want. True liberty is the fruit of purified devotion.Every soul is devoted to something. Some devotions are holy. Others are hidden masters. What are you actually devoted to?
Not what do you say you believe.
Not what do you defend in public.
Not what do you admire in principle.
What do your choices reveal you actually serve?
Devoted to Liberty: Exposing Our Hidden Motives and Purifying Our Moral Compass is a Christ-centered exploration of liberty, agency, devotion, hidden idolatry, and the moral compass beneath our choices. Kelly L. Call teaches that liberty is not merely permission, autonomy, political identity, or the right to do what we want. True liberty is the fruit of purified devotion.
Every soul is devoted to something.
Some devotions are holy. Others are hidden masters. Comfort, image, control, appetite, resentment, fear, political identity, family tradition, trauma-shaped self-protection, ambition, fantasy, and the need to be right can all bend the moral compass away from Christ while still disguising themselves as principle, personality, loyalty, responsibility, or freedom.
This book asks the central diagnostic question:
What do my choices reveal I am actually devoted to?
Drawing from LDS scripture, the doctrine of moral agency, the commandment to have no other gods, the Savior’s teachings on treasure and fruit, Captain Moroni’s Title of Liberty, and the sanctifying work of the Holy Ghost, this book shows how Christ exposes hidden motives not to shame the soul, but to liberate it.
The message is clear: shame is not God’s method of purification. Christ does not reveal false devotion to humiliate us. He reveals it so the Holy Ghost can reorder the heart.
This is primarily a Charitability book. Pure Christlike love calibrates the moral compass that directs Sovereignability. Agency must be governed by purified love, or liberty can become appetite, rebellion, entitlement, control, political idolatry, or self-will. When charity becomes true north, the soul becomes increasingly capable of choosing liberty and eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Using the corrected Seven Governing Dynamics framework, this book shows how holy liberty requires Respondability, Sociability, Engageability, Charitability, Sovereignability, Discernibility, and Teachability working together under Christ.
This is not merely a book about political freedom.
It is a book about souls, homes, marriages, families, wards, leaders, institutions, communities, and civilizations whose moral compasses must be purified by Christlike charity before liberty can endure.
For readers who want repentance without shame, truth without contempt, accountability without humiliation, agency without appetite, leadership without domination, belonging without bondage, and freedom rooted in devotion to God, Devoted to Liberty offers a searching and hopeful vision:
A people devoted to liberty because they are first devoted to Christ.
