8vo 8" - 9" tall; 161 pages; 1960 Lucis Publishing. HC. 2nd edition. Bound in publisher’s blue cloth lettered in gilt. Prior ownership ink stamps of "The Unity Lending Library" to the front and rear endpages; light glue residue to rear endpage from a removed card pocket. Rear endpage filled with detailed contemporary notes keyed to passages in the text; text otherwise unmarked. Binding a little shaken but sound. Laid in are two scarce 8-pp pamphlets issued ca. 1960s by the Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship (Evanston, Ill. ) : Paul L. Higgins’ organizational history of the Fellowship and a progressive "Reading List in Psychics and Christianity" offering 78 titles across five levels. Founded in 1956, SFF sought to integrate psychical research with Protestant Christianity and counted figures such as Arthur Ford among its leaders. These ephemeral guides situate the present copy within the mid-century American religious–psychical movement. G+ Wwith notable association material.
