RÉSUMÉ
Un tueur en série, surnommé Le Designer, travestit depuis vingt ans ses scènes de crime de façon particulièrement dérangeante.
Il reste introuvable à ce jour.
Henry, profileur discret marqué par un passé difficile, se débat entre cette affaire et son attirance irraisonnée et dangereuse pour la femme de son ami d’enfance.
Jusqu’au jour où tout va basculer…
Le Designer est un thriller psychologique haletant qui va plonger Henry, le personnage principal, dans un enfer sans issue.
Il devra lutter contre sa nature et ses sentiments pour arriver à sortir vivant du piège terrible dans lequel il vient de tomber.
EXTRAIT
Saint Dix est un village médiéval entouré de collines foncées, de sapins vert sombre et de cascades accidentées. Le paysage est volcanique et la pierre de lave, de couleur gris clair qui s’assombrit avec le temps, utilisée pour bâtir le village et les bourgs alentours, rend les demeures austères, obscures et peu accueillantes.
Les légendes sont nombreuses, et celle du Roc des Pluies Noires suppliciait dans mes cauchemars les protagonistes de cette sinistre histoire. Elle raconte qu’au douzième siècle, une pluie noire, qui aurait teint la pierre de la région, s’est abattue sur le Roc le jour où ont été découverts, dans la crypte sous l’église, les corps de dizaines d’enfants disparus. Le curé a été lynché par les habitants et les pluies abondantes qui tombent depuis sur Saint Dix, seraient les larmes mêlées de terre des victimes qui pleurent pour l’éternité leurs destins brisés.
De cette église minuscule ne restent aujourd’hui que des ruines, battues par les vents du nord, esseulées en haut de ce pic rocheux dont l’accès, difficile, se fait par une longue série de virages en épingle...
ILS ONT LU LE DESIGNER
J. Beaugrand : "La nuit semble longue avant de pouvoir reprendre sa tablette de lecture... Un destin, un fatum implacable, lourd bien qu'imprévisible, déboussolant, qui pousse Henry au bord du suicide. Une nature menaçante, des villages sinistres, des humains déchus: c'est du noir profond. La fin tombe comme un couperet et vous laisse comme sonné. No futur. Les frères Coen pourraient s'emparer du roman pour en faire un scénario tout à fait dans leur style. C'est le meilleur compliment que je puisse faire. J'ai donc beaucoup aimé. Vivement le prochain !"
Marnie/Amazon : Deux points positifs pour ce thriller qui m'a vraiment interpellée, une écriture très très soignée "introspective" torturée où "le suicide" ou la fuite semblent absorber l'essence de notre héros, et... l'originalité du sujet. En effet, trouver qui est le "designer" n'est pas la question (on devine l'identité du serial killer [rapidement]) mais l'affronter et entrer dans sa tête restent l'objectif central. Le point négatif est que ce thriller est bien trop court. Il y avait matière à explorer cet univers plombant, sombre et glauque (petit village dont on ne sait jamais s'il est anglais ou français, inquiétant médiéval hors du temps en plein repli sur lui-même) avec une fin sans surprise... mais par contre, c'est une atmosphère très très réussie qui m'a hantée un long moment, dérangeante, plombée, faite de non dits, de dénis, alors que l'auteure décrit plusieurs caractères. Cette richesse de sujets et de détails évolutifs auraient mérité une plus grande ambition, Sylvie Bardet semblant avoir le talent d'écrire un "grand thriller"...
Vince Maribor : Un style fluide, sobre et élégant, au service de personnages à la psychologie complexe pour des rebondissements originaux échappant aux poncifs habituels de la plupart des histoires de serial killers. Hitchcock aurait pu en faire un sacré bon film !

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to medimops, Leipzig, Germany, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
