Harvesting is also done by climbing on the tree and collecting fruits in a cloth bag on the shoulder of picker. Time of harvest during the coolest time of the day, that is, early morning or late evening when physiological activities of the fruit are low. Jamun (Black berry) fruits are generally harvested daily and send to market on the same day as they cannot be kept for long time. Timely harvesting is very basic operation to save the fruit crop from the qualitative and quantitative losses. Delayed harvesting means over maturity and loss of quality.
