Print on Demand. This book explores high-current ammeter calibration using transformers, delving into the intricacies of transformer design. The author provides a comprehensive overview of transformer theory, covering fundamental concepts like the relationship between voltage, current, and magnetic flux. Through meticulous calculations and a series of design assumptions, the author guides readers through the process of creating a custom transformer to meet specific calibration requirements. The book also delves into the practical aspects of transformer construction, including core type selection and cooling methods. It concludes with insights on optimizing transformer efficiency. This book serves as an invaluable guide for engineers and professionals involved in electrical testing and measurement. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

In the calibration of higher reading ammeters it is necessary, on account of the high current required, to use too large an amount of power to be economical when the current is supplied at the normal voltage of an ordinary A. C. Generator. For this reason it is advisable to use a transformer in connection with the generator, which lowers the voltage and gives a higher current, and only changes the power by an amount equal to the losses in said transformer.
