Design Basics for Rug Hookers by Susan L. Feller showcases design elements every rug hooker should know. She covers how to develop an appealing design and provides lessons on colour and contrast as well as balance and movement.
The design of the rug is determined by more than the subject matter alone. Susan teaches readers how to use different textures and patterns as design tools when making their own pieces of art. A free pattern pull-out is included with each book that rug hookers can use to practice the techniques Susan presents. There’s also a full-colour art gallery in the back that rug hookers can use as inspiration for their own designs.
