Print on Demand. This book examines the economic viability of constructing an independent power plant to fulfill a specific energy demand, contrasting its costs against those of purchasing power from the grid. The author presents a detailed illustrative case study, guiding readers through the design and cost estimation of the hypothetical power plant, including equipment specifications, calculations, and an analysis of both the capital expenditure and ongoing expenses associated with the facility. In comparing the costs of the proposed plant to the price of purchasing power from the grid, the book provides valuable insights into the financial considerations involved in choosing between these two options, considering factors such as fuel costs, labor expenses, and maintenance costs. The author concludes that while the upfront investment in an independent power plant may be substantial, the potential for long-term savings can be significant, especially for facilities with high and consistent energy demands. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
