vii, 23 p. 25 cm. Title page engraving by Isaac Taylor. Disbound. First blank leaf is nearly detached. Dampstains to tops of pages from title through to first pages. Worm holes to margins and a horizontal crease throughout. Dedication to Sir Joshua Reynolds. First published in May 1770, Goldsmith's poem is social commentary condemning rural depopulation and the pursuit of excessive wealth. Composed in heroic couplets, the poem was very popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. Seller Inventory # 113998
