By Desiderius Erasmus and printed in Leiden and Rotterdam by Ex Officina Hackiana. 1664, 784 pp plus index, 7.75 x 5 , 8vo, hardcover full vellum. In good condition, with periodic wear and staining to covers. Some hinge wear towards front and back of book. Text block remains overall bound well despite wear. Illustrated title page. Small holes to early pages and light wear to some edges and corners. Includes index at end of text block. Light markings and marginalia. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A nicely preserved example of the Colloquies of Desiderius Erasmus (1456-1536). Includes a note affixed to the back pastedown with a mention of a Mr. De Burigny, possibly French historian Jean Levesque de Burginy (1692-1785), although the handwritten and paper quality imply a time period closer to the book s printing.
