Publication: Sparkford, Haynes Publishing, 2011. Formatting: 4to, pp. 272. Condition Report: Near Fine. This copy presents exceptionally well, featuring tight, secure binding and clean blue cloth boards with bright, unoxidised gilt lettering to the spine. The text block remains square, clean, and entirely free of foxing or preliminary inscriptions. Its unclipped dust jacket retains vibrant, glossy colours with virtually no shelf-wear, rubbing, or edge-creasing, justifying a high grade for its excellent structural and aesthetic integrity. Catalogue Note: This is the revised, updated, and enlarged second edition, originally published by Patrick Stephens in 1988. It features extensive new material covering the latter stages of Bell's career and his life in the United States. The volume is heavily illustrated throughout with both colour and black-and-white photographs documenting his racing history. Unsigned copies of this second edition are relatively common on the secondary market, though finding one in this crisp, well-preserved state is highly desirable for motorsport collectors. In this highly readable and expanded autobiography, motorsport legend Derek Bell recounts a thrilling career spanning over 40 years. Best known for his unparalleled endurance racing success, including five Le Mans 24 Hours victories and three at the Daytona 24 Hours, Bell offers candid insights into his time with Ferrari in Formula 1, his iconic partnership with Porsche, and the formidable challenges of professional motorsport. …
