Print on Demand. This book chronicles the initial events in what was to become the Reformation, a momentous movement which forever changed the course of Christianity in Europe. Through the letters penned by papal envoy Girolamo Aleander, a central figure in the Roman Curia, we witness the rise of Martin Luther and his challenge to the authority of the Catholic Church. As a primary source, this book provides a rare glimpse into the collision of religious reform and political power that characterized the birth of Protestantism. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
