Patterned brown cloth. Thick octavo. xi, (1), 822pp plus 8pp ads. Third edition, revised. The author was professor of anatomy at University College London and one of the foremost anatomists of his time. This book, first published in 1840, became the standard textbook on anatomy in England and the United States for many years. The covers are good with some chipping to the edges and corners. The cloth spine is missing and needs to be replaced. The text is good and clean with light wear. Two pieces of colored paper are pasted to the inside cover and front flyleaf. Scarce.
