I just finished listing another book that was previously owned by the renowned actor Theodore Bikel, a man who was also involved in the civil rights movement. This was another of his books (it bears his small bookplate on the front inside cover). The book is in very decent condition. You can see the black covers in the photos. They are clean. The gilt lettering on the spine is very bright. There is one tiny tear at the top edge of the spine. The six edges are in very good shape. The four corners look very good. The book is square. The spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book appears to be in excellent shape. I am scrolling through the pages without finding any instances of soiling. I'm not finding any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments other than the bookplate of Mr. Bikel, and no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. There is some amber foxing just off the three edges of the blank first front end paper. There isn't any on the front inside cover or rear inside cover, there is the same pattern of foxing on the last blank rear end paper. There is no foxing on the two first blank rear end papers, so it is quite limited, and limited just to the thin areas off the margins. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It's in decent shape, but I've rated it only Good because there are a few very small tears, one on the spine and to just adjacent to the spine on the front cover. The rear cover also has some old handling soiling, and the flaps have some toning or foxing at their margins. The flaps are otherwise in solid shape. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all it will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned.
