This pocket guide follows his life and career while revealing what to look for in his sweeping compositions, energetic brushwork, exotic subjects, historical dramas, and emotionally charged figures. Learn how Delacroix drew inspiration from literature, travel, music, and the Old Masters, and why his daring approach influenced artists from the Impressionists to the early modernists.
