"Written with the clear thinking of a physicist, this inspiring book uses fresh language and creative metaphors to guide the reader on a deepening contemplative journey. . . . The author offers a sense of reassuring companionship for what can sometimes be a lonely inner pilgrimage."
-Father Richard Rohr
"Here is a book that is worth reading and meditating slowly. Sharon bites on what it is to be human, on how the life of the spirit gets to work within genuine anthropological and psychological reflection. The result is a slow narrative that takes the reader deeper and deeper, but cumulatively, without ever losing its way."
-James Alison, author of Faith beyond Resentment and Undergoing God
"This is the most important book I've ever read in my life. It's often said that life comes without an owner's manual, and we have to find our way by trial and error . . . but for me, this book is the perfect manual for the art of living contemplatively. The space this book occupies on my bookshelves will be sacred space."
-Christopher Stokes, journalist
"This book addressed a lot of the questions I have been dealing with around faith and unknowing, and trusting the holding presence of God."
-Fortune Shonhiwa, environmental activist
"This book touches the souls of those of us at a critical crossroads in life. The author affirms and helps me to articulate much of what is going on right now as I sit at "the windowsill of the heart" in blessed waiting."
-Father Patrick Condron
