You made the choice. Now you have to live with it.
The offer was accepted. The move was made. The relationship changed. You expected a decision to bring clarity, but ordinary life arrived with doubt, responsibility, and the persistent question of what might have happened if you had chosen differently.
In The Decision After the Decision, Danish Ali Bajwa explores the work that begins after a consequential choice: how to stay committed without ignoring reality, learn from regret without living inside it, and change direction without denying what you owe.
Through original illustrative stories and thoughtful practical reflection, discover how to distinguish a difficult beginning from a lasting mismatch, a genuine loss from an idealized alternative, and a poor outcome from a poor decision. Examine sunk costs, the daily work of commitment, and the new evidence that can make an earlier choice worth reviewing.
The book also looks beyond the individual decision maker. Who carries the costs of your ambitions? What does repair require when someone else has been hurt? How can you leave a role responsibly, and how do you live with consequences that cannot be reversed?
Twelve chapters lead toward a clear review practice for the choices that still need your attention. Learn to describe the problem, identify present obligations, compare realistic options, involve affected people, and decide what would justify another review.
For readers navigating career changes, demanding commitments, major transitions, or the quieter burden of second thoughts, this book offers a considered way forward. It makes room for mixed feelings, imperfect information, meaningful responsibility, and a life that continues to change.
Your next decision does not have to erase the last one. It can show what you have learned.
