The autobiographical account of the author's search for a suitable film location evoking the landscape and life of 1930's rural England, and his find of two Indian possibilities, one in Ootacamund (Queen of the Hill Stations) and one in the Maharaja's palace in Bangalore. The book is an expansion of the author's Radio Three and Radio Four talks of the same name.
