Print on Demand. This book delves into a heated religious debate in 19th century America. The author meticulously reconstructs the correspondence between two prominent figures of the time, a Universalist minister and a Presbyterian minister. The book documents their exchange as they grapple with the question of eternal damnation, a topic of immense theological and societal importance during that era. Their arguments are driven by a desire to prove their own faith while simultaneously discrediting the other's. The book also delves into the complex dynamics of religious discourse and the strategies employed by both men to gain the upper hand in their public debate. The book offers a unique glimpse into the intellectual and social landscape of the 19th century, revealing the fervor of religious belief and the complexities of theological discussions during a time of significant religious change. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

N ow, Messrs. Editors, you have my reply. I should not have challenged you to a debate. My engagements are such as fully occupy my time. But as you have challenged me, thus making it impossible for me, without seeming to shrink from the defence of truth, to avoid a discussion, you must meet the responsibility. Very respectfully.
